When we had the dam staying with us for the mating, we felt that she really was
the sort of bitch who could produce something nice and the dog that Wendy
Mitchell had chosen to use, The Outlaw, suited her beautifully.
Accordingly, when the litter was born (which contained a high percentage of
reds) we very much wanted to go and see them. On a beautiful sunny day in July
we travelled down to Sussex and we were certainly not disappointed. Wendy had
decided to keep the male and he was very nice indeed but there were also three
flashy red and white bitches. There wasn’t much to separate them but we kept
coming back to ‘Lola’. She was spectacular on the table and also had such a
pretty head and expression. Wendy very kindly agreed to sell her to us.
As she grew we became more and more excited by her. On her very first appearance
in the ring she went Reserve Best in Show and Best Puppy in Show at the British
Boxer Club under Pam Freeman and she looked sensational. After that, we
campaigned her pretty lightly through her puppy classes, waiting for her to
mature.
In December 2014 when she was a few days into Yearling we took her to the
Cotswold Boxer Club and we were thrilled when she won her class, followed by her
first CC and BIS under Diego Garcia from an entry of 240. She started 2015 with
the RCC at the Anglian Boxer Club from Paul Melville. She then picked up her
second CC at the Mancunian Boxer Club in April under Mandy Laidlaw when she was
still in yearling. She was awarded BIS as well, with the agreement of co-judge
Jack Bispham. Her title came quickly at Three Counties when she was in Limit for
the first time, having turned two just a few days before the show. When Carol
Schofield awarded her the class and then her third CC, Lola became our 27th UK
Champion and the first one for Wendy Mitchell’s long standing Diceulon kennel.
We admire her clean cut outline and her beautiful balance with excellent
angulation front and rear. She has a lovely crested neck and correctly sloping
topline. On the move she is accurate from all angles and pushes off well from
behind. Her head is beautiful with good width and depth of muzzle and a
quizzical expression. Lola is a very valuable addition to our kennel.
